This photo of a house has never been identified. It's a common style of houses at the time. Does it look like any house you've seen in Queens County? I'm usually pretty good at identifying old pictures but this one has me stumped!
This is the house Tammi is talking about on Western Head Lighthouse Road but I dont think that's it Tammi.
It really looks like Polly Conrad's house, Cherry Hill.Maybe not,but it sure looks like it.across from Cherry Hill beach road.

ReplyDeleteNope...just checked the old pic - extremely, extremely close...my gut still says Western Head (likely built by same person) - maybe on the lighthouse road.
ReplyDeleteIt is now owned by a daughter of Reg Coolen .( Leanne Berjke). Her aunt lived there for years.

The colour photograph is our house on Lighthouse Road, Western Head. We moved in this February, 2024.

ReplyDeleteOn second throughts, BOTH photos ARE our house. The barn is in the right place. The angle of the photo fooled me for a minute! Where did you find the black and while photo? Would love to access a copy! We love it here.
