  6. Well I can't fool you guys, yes this was on Bristol Avenue and I was told, way back when, it was the home of Guy Dexter, who also had a store in town. Guy was the father of Maddie Keay so I heard this was where Maddie grew up. Perhaps some of the blog readers may know this for certain. Many of you will remember Maddie who was the organist at Zion Church for a long time and she played piano for many productions at the Astor Theater.

    1. You are correct. In later years, Helen Phinney and her mother Tess bought the house. They lived in the front part, and rented the back, the rental entrance being from the South side. They were my friends and their large family. Helen worked for years in the Municipal Office (now Royal Bank as renovated/rebuilt)as Asst. Clerk and Treasurer. Tess Phinney had a large family, all in the employ of NS Power. Her husband operated from the Guzzle, Milton. From England. Some of her children married and lived in Milton, one son in Bedford and another son and family in Ottawa employed by the armed forces naval research department.

  7. I knew that that late Helen Phinney Glawson was one of the last owners of this house before it was demolished.
