All these houses look so familiar, just can't place them. I notice the lamp post though. I remember when the poles use to have the metal handles so you could climb up them, or rather the highly trained power company workers could climb them. lol
This house is a hard one to identify. It still has the same shape, no major changes there but all of the windows have been changed and the veranda removed long ago making it difficult to recognize. It is located on Main Street near Wolfe Street and was at one time owned by Brian and Kendra Oickle and as far as I know is presently owned by Dave Schofield. It is almost identical to a nearby house owned by Ted Veinot. This area of Liverpool was the original town so those 2 houses are very old.
Tim, giving the address I thin the place is the Gauthier place.. Paul Gauthier was the mailman who went around picking up the mail from the mailboxes. If my memory servers me correct there should be one house between this one and Ted Veinot's.
Hi my friend! I wish to say that this article is awesome, great written and come with approximately all significant infos. I would like to look extra posts like this .
Yes Gordon...that house burned down when I was a little girl...I got up in the morning to eat my breakfast, looked out the window and said to my mother...what happened to Mrs. Gauthier's house? I didn't hear a thing...I was born in 1962, and was perhaps up to get ready for school....my home was right next door on the corner...Dan Callaghan lived there too.
Wow I wouldn't have guessed this house either but it is almost on the opposite side of the road from me! Thanks for posting all the things you do and keeping the history alive.
